On March 19, 2025, the vessel tve' Consul' was detained in Gemlik following the identification of 20 deficiencies during an inspection, with 11 of these being classified as serious. Among the critical issues noted were: the absence of a Continuous Synopsis Record, an expired endorsement by the flag state, and missing tonnage certificates. Furthermore, significant structural concerns included cracking in decks and various tanks, as well as corrosion in key components such as beams and frames. Fire safety protocols were also compromised due to unsafe fire doors and openings. Additionally, water and weather-tight doors were found to be cracked, along with non-compliance related to the ISM certificate. After addressing these issues, the vessel was released on March 22, 2025, and subsequently made its way to Altinova for required permanent repairs.

In a recent enforcement action, the local municipality's environmental pollution prevention department has fined the vessel 'Consul' for breaching local regulations aligned with MARPOL guidelines during its port stay in Mersin on August 2, 2021. The incident occurred at noon, prompting local authorities to open an investigation into the vessel's conduct. The findings revealed that 'Consul' had improperly discharged contaminated ballast water, resulting in a substantial penalty of $160,800. In light of these violations, the Harbour Master has withheld the vessel's departure permission until both the fine and associated cleaning costs are settled. Following the resolution of these matters, 'Consul' departed Mersin late that same night, setting sail for Rostov-on-Don, with an estimated time of arrival on August 13.
