High Pressure Fuel Injector Malfunction on Coral Patula Near Spurn Point

Dec 22, 2018 13:11

On December 21, 2018, the cargo vessel 'Coral Patula,' sailing from Antwerp towards Teesport with a crew of 17, encountered a mechanical issue approximately 25 nautical miles northeast of Spurn Point (coordinates: 53° 42' 53.4" N, 0° 48' 51.0" E). At 9 a.m. that morning, the crew identified an increase in temperature in one of the cylinder units of the main engine, indicating a defective high pressure fuel injector. Assessing the situation, the crew determined that the ship could safely proceed to a secure location for further inspection. They promptly informed the Coastguard along with their technical superintendent about the situation. After a thorough examination, the crew's initial evaluation was confirmed, leading to a swift exchange of the faulty fuel injectors with spares stored on board. Remarkably, no external assistance was required, and the repair process was completed within just 30 minutes. Following the repairs, the 'Coral Patula' continued its journey, successfully docking at Teesport on December 22 at 8:40 a.m.

Anthony Veder Expands Fleet with Acquisition of Four Gas Carriers from L.G.R. di Navigazione

Sep 24, 2015 08:37

In a strategic move to modernize its fleet, Anthony Veder has successfully acquired four gas tankers from L.G.R. di Navigazione. The transaction includes two semi pressurized/fully refrigerated gas carriers, Castel Dell’ Ovo and Castello Di Gradara, which are capable of carrying 4,000 cubic meters each. These vessels, built in 2007 and 2009, respectively, have been under the commercial management of Anthony Veder since early 2015. They are set to be renamed Coral Medusa and Coral Monactis upon delivery in the upcoming months. Additionally, the purchase encompasses two 8,000 cubic meter ethylene carriers, Castel Nuovo and Castel Sant’ Elmo, both launched in 2009. These ships will transition from the Lauritzen Kosan Pool to join Anthony Veder's fleet. They are expected to be delivered shortly after the smaller vessels and will be renamed Coral Pearl and Coral Patula. This acquisition marks a significant enhancement in Anthony Veder's capabilities within the gas transport sector, reinforcing its commitment to providing high-quality service in the maritime industry.
