Launch Collides with Container Ship at Hamburg's Tollerort Terminal
On July 14, 2025, at approximately 2:20 p.m., the launch 'Wili Abicht' (MMSI: 211184720) encountered an unfortunate incident when it allided with the 'COSCO Capricorn' at the Tollerort Container Terminal in Hamburg. This collision resulted from a sudden rudder failure experienced by the launch. Fortunately, only two individuals— a 28-year-old female passenger and a 51-year-old male passenger—sustained minor injuries amidst the mishap. Although the launch endured damage, it was assessed as not being in danger of sinking, and there were no environmental concerns, as no pollution was reported. Following the incident, the launch was scheduled for repairs at a shipyard and made its way to the Kaiser Wilhelm Port. The larger container vessel, 'COSCO Capricorn', reportedly suffered some superficial paint abrasions, retaining its position in port as of July 15.

The COSCO SHIPPING CAPRICORN is part of an order of four 20,000 TEU vessels currently under construction at NACKS.
