The MV COSCO Houston, a latest addition to COSCO Container Lines, is poised to make its landmark first call in the United States on Tuesday, July 3, at the Barbours Cut Container Terminal, operated by the Port of Houston Authority. Leonard Waterworth, Executive Director of the Port, expressed pride in naming this noteworthy vessel after the vibrant city of Houston. As one of eight ships inaugurating the new Gulf of Mexico Express transpacific service, the MV COSCO Houston marks a significant enhancement to COSCO's fleet. The vessel impressively measures 261 meters (857 feet) in length and 32.25 meters (106 feet) in breadth. Boasting a robust turbo-charged diesel engine, the ship has a capacity to carry 4,253 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), reinforcing COSCO's commitment to efficient and expansive maritime logistics.
