Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) is on high alert after unloading containers from the foreign cargo ship Cristina A, amid concerns over potential illegal goods or explosives. According to Lt Col Moazzem Hossain, the CPA Director of Security, the suspicious containers have been strategically placed in various yards throughout the port for close monitoring. The Turkish-flagged vessel docked at Jetty No. 13, carrying a total of 973 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units), at approximately 1:00 PM on Friday. This heightened scrutiny follows a verbal notification from a government intelligence agency, which urged CPA officials to thoroughly inspect the consignments before any delivery could occur. The situation remains under careful watch as the investigation progresses.
