Working Conditions Aboard the Cscl-Star

On June 21, 2011, Jeddah made maritime history with the arrival of the 'CSCL Star', marking it as the largest vessel ever to dock at this bustling port. This monumental event occurred at the newly inaugurated Red Sea Gateway Terminal (RSGT), which represents a significant advancement for Jeddah Islamic Port. The 'CSCL Star' is equipped with an impressive capacity of 14,100 TEU, solidifying its status as one of the largest container ships worldwide. Notably, the ship was delivered by Samsung Heavy Industries just months prior, in January 2011, emphasizing the rapid evolution of maritime capabilities and the port's growing significance in global trade.

The CSCL Star, with IMO number 9466867, is set to embark on her inaugural journey at the bustling Port of Felixstowe on Friday, February 18, 2011, with an estimated arrival time of 17:00 GMT. Upon her arrival, she will dock at the state-of-the-art berths 8 and 9, recently constructed to accommodate such large vessels. Initial operations will involve unloading the top layer of containers, after which the CSCL Star is scheduled to be repositioned to Trinity Terminal, where the rest of her container loading and unloading tasks will be efficiently executed.
