Quick action by the crew led to the successful extinguishment of the blaze, with vital assistance from the tugboat 'Mississippi' (IMO: 9305726), which was alerted following a distress signal sent to CROSS Réunion. At that moment, the 'Mississippi', alongside the tug 'Baltic Pearl' (IMO: 9321598), was engaged in towing the Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) 'Happiness I' towards Khor Fakkan. Prior to the incident, the 'Shahr E Kord' had been en route to Bandar Abbas, with an estimated time of arrival set for August 1.
