(PSI), celebrated the christening of the largest container ship ever constructed in the United States. The ceremony took place at the Philly Shipyard on Saturday, June 30. "Today is a day of immense pride for all of us at Matson," expressed Matt Cox, Matson's chairman and CEO, during the ceremony. He further noted, "In our 136 years of service, Matson's fleet has continually adapted—from sailing vessels to modern steamers and now to advanced diesel-powered ships—reflecting advancements in technology and the evolving needs of Hawaii’s growing economy."
