The first attack transpired at 2:03 p.m. GMT on August 8, when a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) detonated dangerously close to the vessel, resulting in blinding flashes and loud explosions witnessed by the crew. Initial reports indicated that the RPG was launched from one of two small boats, each carrying four individuals. Later that evening, another missile assault unfolded at 10:45 p.m. GMT, with a projectile landing perilously near the ship. The following day, August 9, brought further unrest as the 'Delta Blue' encountered a small boat and an unmanned surface vessel (USV), commonly referred to as a sea drone, at approximately 58 nautical miles northwest of Hodeidah in the early hours. The USV approached swiftly, prompting the crew to display their firearms as a deterrent. When the unmanned vessel persisted, the security team successfully engaged and neutralized the threat. Subsequently, at 5:57 a.m. GMT on August 9, the 'Delta Blue' faced a fourth missile incident, with explosions occurring in proximity to the tanker. Thankfully, in spite of these harrowing attacks, both the vessel and its crew remained unscathed and continue on their route to the next designated port. Notably, there are no links between the tanker and the US, UK, or Israel—countries that the Houthi militia typically targets. In response to these alarming events, the UK's Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) advised all ships in the Red Sea region to remain vigilant for any suspicious activities.
