The Delta-Harmony: Crew Feedback and Vessel Data

On January 13, 2026, four Greek-managed oil tankers came under alleged drone attacks in proximity to Russia's Black Sea terminal, specifically at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) Yuzhnaya Ozereyevka terminal located near Novorossiysk. The vessels involved included the 'Delta Harmony', which was preparing to load oil from Tengizchevroil when a minor fire erupted onboard but was quickly contained. Meanwhile, the 'Matilda' (IMO: 9407457), sailing in ballast approximately 30 nautical miles from the CPC terminal, was struck by two drones, resulting in superficial damage to its deck structure. This tanker was scheduled to load oil from the Karachaganak field. Additionally, the 'Freud' (IMO: 9804461) and the 'Delta Supreme' (IMO: 9585895) were also implicated in the incident. At Novorossiysk, the 'Freud' was hit as it awaited loading crude oil, sustaining minor damage. This vessel has since departed Russian waters and is en route to the Eastern Mediterranean, with an expected arrival in Trieste on January 20. It was carrying CPC Blend, vital for fueling the Transalpine pipeline from the Siot terminal. The management of the 'Matilda', operated by Thenamaris, affirmed that they immediately reported the drone strike to authorities. Fortunately, all crew members remained unharmed, and there were no reports of injuries or pollution, confirming the vessel's continued seaworthiness. The Greek company continues to liaise closely with the ship’s Master and relevant authorities regarding the situation. Notably, the CPC offshore terminal at Novorossiysk plays a pivotal role in the global oil supply chain, handling over 1% of it and around 80% of Kazakhstan's oil exports. The terminal is crucial for transporting crude oil from western Kazakhstan to global markets. This follows a previous incident in early December that temporarily decommissioned one of the terminal's single-point moorings.

On May 29, 2022, a 34-year-old crew member sustained injuries while the 'Delta Harmony' was mooring at the Port of Thessaloniki. The incident occurred in the afternoon when the ship's captain promptly alerted the Port Authority regarding the crew member’s condition. The injured party suffered damage to his right elbow and thigh. Emergency medical services transported him via ambulance to the General Hospital of Thessaloniki, where he received immediate care before being discharged shortly thereafter.
