On February 27, 2011, at 12:05 a.m., the 'Delta Kanaris' successfully rescued four sailors from the beleaguered sailing vessel 'Recidive'. This lifesaving operation took place after the U.S. Coast Guard received an emergency signal from a personal locator beacon associated with the 'Recidive' at 1:45 p.m. on February 26. Immediate action was taken by the Coast Guard, utilizing the Automated Mutual-Assistance Vessel Rescue System (AMVER) to direct the 'Delta Kanaris' to the sailors' location. The four French nationals aboard were en route from the Canary Islands to Martinique for a trans-Atlantic journey when distress struck.
