A maritime accident off the coast of Chittagong has left four crew members missing after the lighter vessel 'Char Samail' tragically sank. The incident occurred on September 29, 2018, during the 'Char Samail's' unmooring process from the bulkcarrier 'Densa Tiger'. Reports indicate that the 'Char Samail' collided with the bulkcarrier 'New Legacy' as it was maneuvering in Chittagong Anchorage. Of the 13 crew members aboard, nine were successfully rescued, while the fate of the four remaining individuals remains uncertain. At the time of the accident, the lighter was carrying a load of 400 tons of scrap from the bulkcarrier, and two other lighters were moored nearby. The sequence of events was initiated when 'New Legacy' collided with 'Densa Tiger', leading to the subsequent crash with 'Char Samail'. Authorities are currently conducting search and rescue operations in hopes of locating the missing crew.
