Iconic Tall Ship Peking Makes Its Journey Home Aboard Combi Dock III
The renowned tall ship 'Peking' is set to embark on a significant journey back to Germany aboard the dock ship 'Combi Dock III'. Scheduled for loading at the end of June, this monumental operation will see the Peking transported from New York across the Atlantic Ocean, with an expected transit time of around two weeks. Upon arrival in Brunsbüttel, tugs will assist the tall ship's passage to Peters Yard in Wewelsfleth. Here, an extensive restoration project is planned, which is projected to take three years and will require an investment of approximately €120 million. Once the restoration is complete, the ship will be entrusted to the Stiftung Historische Museen Hamburg (SHMH), ensuring its preservation for future generations.
