What Crew Members Say About Eagle

On January 30, 2014, a crew member aboard the tugboat 'Eagle' was successfully medevaced by the U.S. Coast Guard in Elliott Bay, Washington. The incident unfolded shortly after 8 a.m. when watchstanders with Coast Guard Sector Puget Sound in Seattle received an urgent call from the vessel's crew, who reported a man experiencing a ribcage injury. The location of the incident was identified as the central part of Elliott Bay, just near downtown Seattle. In response to the emergency, a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium (RB-M) from Station Seattle was dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, the RB-M crew swiftly boarded the tug using a rescue litter. Working in coordination with the crew of the 'Eagle,' they secured the injured individual and carefully transferred him onto their vessel. Following the rescue operation, the Coast Guard transported the man to the Seattle Fire Station Five pier, located at 925 Alaskan Way, where local emergency medical services were standing by to provide further assistance. The injured crew member reportedly sustained his injury while heaving a line, although the full extent of the injury remains unconfirmed.
