In a swift response to a medical emergency, the US Coast Guard successfully executed a medevac operation for a 45-year-old man from the tanker 'Eagle Texas.' This incident unfolded approximately 27 miles south of Sabine, Texas, on June 12, 2018. The captain of the tanker reached out to Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston, seeking urgent assistance for a crewmember displaying signs consistent with a cardiac arrest. Following the protocol, the watchstanders alerted a duty flight surgeon, who promptly recommended the medevac. An aircrew from Coast Guard Air Station Houston, aboard an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter, arrived at the scene and airlifted the affected mariner to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. On Thursday evening, the U.S. Coast Guard successfully medevaced a 33-year-old man who suffered a head injury while working aboard the tanker Eagle Texas, located approximately 90 miles east of Jacksonville. The incident drew the attention of the Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville command center, which received a distress call on Wednesday concerning the crew member who had fallen into the vessel's cargo hold. Originally situated 300 miles off the Jacksonville coast, the Eagle Texas altered its course to meet up with rescue teams. An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Savannah was dispatched and carried out the medevac operation at 6:52 p.m. The injured individual was promptly transported to UF Health Jacksonville hospital for further medical care. In addition, a HC-130 Hercules aircraft from Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater provided crucial communication and logistical support during the operation. The Eagle Texas is an 800-foot tanker, proudly homeported in the Marshall Islands.
