On August 26, 2022, the Central Port Authority of Kalamata was alerted by the MRCC of the Greek Coast Guard about a migrant vessel in distress 26 nautical miles southwest of Zakynthos. Responding swiftly, the nearby cargo ship 'Jana Rosa', alongside a patrol boat, successfully rescued 69 individuals who had embarked on their perilous journey from the Turkish coast near Izmir on the early morning of August 22. After their rescue, the migrants were transferred to a patrol boat and taken to Kalamata port on the morning of August 27. The Central Port Authority of Kalamata is currently conducting an investigation and has apprehended six individuals for illegal entry into the country and human trafficking activities.

On October 15, 2021, at 11:30 a.m., the bulk carrier 'HC Jana Rosaa' encountered significant engine problems while navigating the Dardanelles on its voyage from Trieste to Tekirdağ. Following the mechanical failure, the vessel was securely anchored in the Şevketiye area. The incident unfolded under the watchful guidance of Vessel Traffic Services, with a pilot on board, as well as the support of tugboats 'Kurtarma 15' and 'Kurtarma 16'. On November 6, 2019, the bulk carrier 'HC Jana Rosa' raised a distress call from the Red Sea near Hodeidah Port, Yemen, alerting authorities to the urgent medical needs of its 52-year-old Ukrainian captain. The captain was suffering from a severe case of intestinal catarrh, prompting the need for immediate evacuation. The Maritime Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC) in Cyprus promptly relayed the emergency message to MRCC Jeddah. Following the alert, the Saudi Arabian Navy and Coastguard instructed the vessel to navigate into Saudi waters. Upon arrival, the 'HC Jana Rosa' was met by specialized rescue vessels and a helicopter from the Saudi Navy, which successfully airlifted the captain for medical attention. Fortunately, his condition was reported as "stable" following the transfer to a local hospital. Meanwhile, the bulk carrier resumed its journey, making its way back to Hodeidah, where it continued to cruise as of the evening of November 7, 2019.
