In a significant development for its fleet, Stena Bulk has recently enhanced its presence in the Sonangol Suezmax pool by incorporating six new Suezmax tankers over the past six months. This addition features a diverse range of modern vessels with varying lengths and options. The latest fleet members include SKS SKEENA, ISTANBUL, ALMI GALAXY, ALMI VOYAGER, and ALMI SKY. Erik Hånell, President & CEO of Stena Bulk, commented on the recent expansions, stating, "In what has generally speaking been a stable low market, we have recently seen opportunities to utilize our business model effectively. With our successful commercial management strategies, we believe we can create a positive impact despite the prevailing challenging conditions, which has led us to charter these six vessels." Hånell further emphasized the company's ambition to elevate the pool of Suezmax tankers to approximately 30, leveraging partnerships and chartered tonnage. "We are continuously evaluating the market and adapting our strategies accordingly," he added. The Stena Sonangol Suezmax pool, known for its quality, was established in 2005 and currently operates around 25 high-caliber Suezmax tankers, reinforcing its position within the maritime industry.
