In a noteworthy incident on September 8, 2025, at 2:35 a.m., the newly launched vessel 'Eco Triumph' faced engine difficulties while navigating the Kiel Canal. The ship, which was on its inaugural journey from Cape Town to Swinoujscie carrying wind turbine blades, experienced an engine failure in the Dükerswisch siding. The ship, freshly delivered from Jiangsu Dayang Marine Equipment Co., Ltd. to German owners Briese on June 12, set sail from Cape Town on August 10. Canal traffic control permitted the vessel to continue towards Kiel under the guidance of a tugboat, despite not having immediate assistance from Fairplay. Due to the unavailability of tugs, it was decided that 'Eco Triumph' would need to turn around and head back to Brunsbüttel, where it was safely moored at the railway station dolphins. The traffic authorities also lifted the nighttime tug sailing restrictions to facilitate the return. Before resuming its voyage, the ship required reconfirmation of its classification.
