The Ekaterini-V: Crew Feedback and Vessel Data

On September 17, 2025, the vessel 'Ekaterini V' faced a detention at Tang Shan port, enforced by the Tokyo MoU authority. During the preliminary inspection, inspectors discovered seven deficiencies, with three being classified as severe, justifying the ship's detention. However, after addressing the necessary issues, the 'Ekaterini V' was cleared and subsequently set sail from Tang Shan on September 18. The ship is currently en route to Singapore, with an estimated arrival date of September 29.

A new charter has been finalized for the transport of 170,000 tons of iron ore from Tubarao, Brazil, to Qingdao, China. The delivery is scheduled between August 1 and August 10, 2019, under terms of $20.50 per ton for free-in and out (FIO) arrangements. Loading will involve 30,000 tons under shinc (shifting included) provisions, with the same conditions applying to discharge operations. The charter has been arranged in collaboration with SwissMarine, emphasizing the ongoing demand for efficient mineral transport from South America to Asia.
