Greek shipping company Euroseas has taken a significant step in its expansion by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to acquire four feeder containerships from the Pittas family, led by Chairman Aristides Pittas. The deal involves a cash payment of $15 million, alongside the issuance of approximately 22.5 million shares, which accounts for 64.3% of Euroseas’ total outstanding common shares. The ships involved in this transaction are the EM Hydra, EM Spetses, EM Kea, and Diamantis P. To facilitate the cash component of this acquisition, Euroseas plans to utilize bank financing aimed at settling the vessels' existing debts. Once the deal is complete, Euroseas will enhance its fleet to a total of 15 container vessels, bolstering its position within the maritime industry.
