Emerald Detained in Durres: Inspection Uncovers Deficiencies
On February 9, 2026, the vessel 'Emerald' was detained in Durres following its arrival from Istanbul. The Mediterranean MoU inspectors conducted a thorough examination of the ship, which unveiled three significant deficiencies. The comprehensive inspection included various critical areas such as the accommodation zone, galley, engine room, navigation bridge, outside decks, forecastle, and the steering room. In addition, the crew carried out emergency fire drills and operations of the fire pump during the inspection. Fortunately, after a follow-up inspection, the ship was cleared for departure and left the port on February 11. The 'Emerald' is now en route to the Russian port of Azov, with an estimated time of arrival set for February 23.
