In a startling incident on October 17, 2017, at approximately 9:30 PM, an alarming event unfolded involving the container ship 'Emotion.' As it navigated the Kiel Canal en route from Bremerhaven to Gdynia, individuals on the Hochdonn railway bridge hurled stones at the vessel. The crew members reported hearing a loud thud on deck and observed three individuals fleeing across the bridge. Upon inspection, they discovered several sizable stones scattered across the poop deck and in the wheelhouse. Although authorities were notified promptly, the police conducted a search and were unable to locate any suspects. Authorities in Brunsbüttel are urging anyone with information regarding this incident to contact them at 04852/9000.

Hapag-Lloyd Enhances Russia Express Service with Gdynia Stop and MV Emotion

Hapag-Lloyd is set to elevate its Russia Express Service (REX) by introducing an additional eastbound port of call at Gdynia, Poland, starting this month, as reported by the Journal of Commerce. This revamped REX rotation includes stops at Bremerhaven, Hamburg, Gdynia, St. Petersburg, Helsinki, and will return to Bremerhaven. The leading German ocean carrier has assured that it will uphold current transit times for shipments to both St. Petersburg and Helsinki. The REX service, which was initially launched in May, operates on a weekly basis with the deployment of two vessels, each with a capacity of approximately 1,400 twenty-foot equivalent units. MV Emotion is scheduled to lead the updated route, with its arrival in Gdynia slated for September 9.
