Container Ship Rescues Two Individuals from Adrift Vessel Near Cadiz
On May 27, 2021, the container ship 'Ensemble', while navigating from Cadiz to Dublin, played a crucial role in the rescue of two individuals stranded on a small two-meter boat belonging to the La Caleta Nautical Club. The incident occurred just two nautical miles off the iconic Castillo de San Sebastián, as eastern winds had pushed the occupants away from the safety of the shore. The 'Ensemble' was the first vessel to locate the distressed boat. Shortly afterwards, the Helimer 201 helicopter and the Salvamento Marítimo rescue boat 'Salvamar Suhail' arrived at the scene at 7:23 a.m. They safely brought the individuals aboard and transported them back to Puerto América. Fortunately, the two rescued were in good health, suffering only from mild hypothermia, and did not require any further medical intervention.
