This advanced configuration reduces the total installed diesel power on the Duandra by approximately 30% when compared to traditional ship designs. The cost savings from this optimization have been strategically reinvested into enhanced electric systems, as well as the implementation of a catalytic converter and particulate filter on each D16 engine. This cutting-edge technology enables the vessel to achieve an impressive reduction in NOx emissions by 70% to 90%, while also decreasing particulate emissions by about 40%.
