On April 21, 2019, a maritime incident occurred at Port Kelang when the container vessel COSCO England collided with the Ever Birth while attempting to berth. The allision transpired as COSCO England navigated through the South Channel, nearing the Westports wharves. As a result of the collision, four containers from the Ever Birth plunged into the waters, with additional containers on its deck sustaining damage. Reports also indicated some hull damage to the COSCO England, although the full extent of this damage remains unclear. Fortunately, both vessels were safely secured alongside, allowing them to continue their operations. In the aftermath, relevant authorities launched an investigation into the incident. The ships were engaged in necessary surveys and repairs, projected to take about a week. On April 28, 2019, the COSCO England departed from Port Kelang and set its course towards Penang.
