On July 9th, during Panama's local time, the EVER LAMBENT, a state-of-the-art 8,452 TEU containership operated by the Evergreen Group, made a historic passage through the newly expanded Panama Canal. This noteworthy event signifies a transformative step for Evergreen Line's maritime services linking the Far East with the US East Coast. To commemorate this momentous occasion, a special ceremony was held at the Canal’s Cocoli Locks, attended by notable representatives from various shipping sectors and government agencies who gathered to celebrate this achievement. The EVER LAMBENT boasts impressive dimensions, measuring 334 meters in length and 45.8 meters in width, with a substantial deadweight tonnage of 104,408 tons and a scantling draft of 14.2 meters. Its transit through the Panama Canal's third set of locks marks not only the first for Evergreen's fleet but also sets a record as the first Taiwanese-operated vessel exceeding 100,000 DWT to navigate the expanded waterway. This milestone highlights Evergreen’s commitment to advancing its global shipping routes and enhancing its service capabilities.

Evergreen Marine has proudly unveiled its first 'L'-type container vessel, the Ever Lambent, in a ceremonial event at the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard. The ship was christened by Evergreen's chairman, Chang Yung-fa, marking a significant milestone for the company. The Ever Lambent boasts impressive dimensions of 334 meters in length and 45.8 meters in width, with a cruising speed that can reach up to 24.5 knots. Notably, this vessel is designed with sustainability in mind, adhering to the Greenship design concept established by Dr. Chang. This includes advancements in hull design, electronically-controlled fuel injection, energy-efficient navigation systems, and a reduced ballast water requirement to enhance the power-to-weight ratio. Starting in August, Evergreen Marine (UK) Ltd will deploy the Ever Lambent on the vital Far East to Europe trade route. This launch represents Evergreen's first new vessel class since the introduction of the S-type Ever Salute in January 2008, showcasing the company's commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility in maritime transport.
