In a significant event for the shipping industry, Evergreen Line has officially launched its latest L-class containership, 'Ever Leading.' The christening ceremony took place on September 12, 2012, at the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard in South Korea, where S.S. Lin, First Vice Group Chairman of Evergreen Group, presided over the event. Distinguished guests, including international dignitaries and industry leaders from Taiwan, gathered to witness the ceremony, underscoring the vessel's importance. The ceremonial rope cutting was expertly performed by Ms. Kitty Yen, Chairman of Evergreen Sky Catering Corp. 'Ever Leading' measures an impressive 334 meters in length and 45.8 meters in width, equipped with 942 reefer plugs, catering to modern shipping demands. The vessel boasts a robust draft of 14.2 meters and is capable of reaching speeds of up to 24.5 knots. Owned by Evergreen Marine (UK) Ltd., the ever-reliable containership is set to bolster Evergreen Line's operations in the Far East – Europe shipping routes following its delivery later this month. With its advanced features and high capacity of 8,452 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU), 'Ever Leading' represents a significant addition to the global maritime fleet.
