Engine Troubles Strike 'Ever Lissome' on Weser River Expedition

Jul 18, 2017 13:56

On the night of July 9, 2017, at approximately 11 p.m., the container ship 'Ever Lissome' faced an unexpected engine failure while navigating the Weser River en route to the North Sea. After departing from Bremerhaven at 10:20 p.m., the vessel encountered difficulties that necessitated dropping anchor at fairway buoy 39. To ensure safety and stability, two tugboats were deployed to maintain the ship's position while engineers worked to resolve the mechanical issues. Following repairs, the 'Ever Lissome' successfully resumed its journey, docking in Le Havre at noon on July 11. The vessel was back in action the following morning, leaving the French port at 6:30 a.m. on July 12, with its sights set on New York, expected to arrive by July 19.

Ever Lissome: Evergreen Group Welcomes New Addition to Fleet

May 15, 2014 11:30

In a significant milestone for the Evergreen Group, the naming ceremony for the EVER LISSOME took place today at the Kaohsiung shipyard of CSBC Corporation. This vessel marks the fifth L-type ship constructed by CSBC for the esteemed shipping line. Vice Group Chairman of Evergreen Group, Mr. Raymond Lin, presided over the event, which featured the ceremonial rope-cutting performed by Mrs. Aphinya Changariyavong, spouse of the Chairman of Evergreen Shipping Agency (Thailand), Mr. Nivat Changariyavong. During his address at the ceremony, Mr. Lin highlighted the optimistic global economic predictions, stating, "The International Monetary Fund's recent World Economic Outlook indicates that global output is projected to rise by 3.6% in 2014. Furthermore, Clarksons expects a 6% growth in global box trade this year. In light of this upward trend, Evergreen Line is actively rejuvenating its fleet to better accommodate the anticipated recovery in trade while also committing to environmental sustainability through the introduction of eco-friendly vessels." The EVER LISSOME, owned by Evergreen Marine (UK) Ltd., boasts impressive dimensions of 334.8 meters in length and 45.8 meters in width, accommodating 948 reefer plugs. This L-class containership is equipped with modern features, including alternative marine power capabilities, a ballast water treatment system, and an electronically controlled fuel-injection engine that promotes slow steaming—all designed with eco-conscious innovation in mind. Scheduled for delivery on May 15th, the EVER LISSOME is set to enhance Evergreen Line's Asia to US East Coast route via the Suez Canal, effectively replacing an older vessel. This delivery underscores Evergreen's commitment to strengthening its fleet as international trade continues to rebound.
