On February 11, 2020, an alarming incident unfolded at Kakinada anchorage when the MV Evimeria became the target of an armed theft. The ship was approached by four intruders wielding knives, who arrived on a distinct blue and yellow vessel at coordinates 16°58'18.0"N, 82°18'28.8"E. They managed to board the Evimeria from the starboard quarter. As the ship's Master raised the alarm, the intruders quickly abandoned the vessel, making their escape with stolen items.
