In a significant development within the LNG shipping sector, EXMAR NV has struck a deal with Teekay LNG Partners L.P. (NYSE: TGP) for the acquisition of a 50% stake in two of EXMAR's liquefied natural gas carriers: EXCELSIOR, constructed in 2005, and EXCALIBUR, built in 2002. This agreement carries an economic date of September 1, 2010. Both vessels are currently under long-term time charters with Excelerate Energy, ensuring a stable revenue stream.
