Tanker 'Ferni H' Grounded in Paraná River Due to Engine Failure
On the morning of March 13, 2020, the tanker 'Ferni H' encountered difficulties and ran aground on the right bank of the Paraná River, just downstream from Puerto Paraná in the estuary. This incident was a result of an unexpected engine failure. Fortunately, the vessel was successfully refloated on the same day and subsequently anchored upstream from the grounding site. At the time of the incident, the 'Ferni H' was carrying a substantial load of 16,000 tons of gasoil on its journey from San Martin, Paraná, to Zona Comun in the Rio De La Plata. On March 15, the vessel made its way to La Plata Anchorage, positioning itself at coordinates 34° 44.97' S 057° 49.26' W.
