HHLA TK Estonia, a key terminal operator, is enhancing its role as a RoRo hub in the Baltic Sea region. This initiative comes as Eckerö Line, a Finnish ferry company, recently commenced its ferry operations between Muuga Port and Vuosaari, Finland. In an official statement, HHLA TK Estonia, a subsidiary of Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA), highlighted the significance of this new connection. The RoPax ferry Finbo Cargo will dock at Muuga, situated approximately 20 kilometers east of Tallinn, Estonia, twice daily. On the Finnish side, Vuosaari, located in eastern Helsinki, will be the primary destination, facilitating smoother trade and travel across the Baltic.

In a strategic move to strengthen its fleet, Åland-based Rederi AB Eckerö has successfully acquired the EUROPEAN ENDEAVOUR, a ro-pax ferry boasting a capacity of 1,950 lane meters, from P&O Ferries. This vessel, constructed in 2000, is currently undergoing repairs and maintenance at Cammell Laird in Birkenhead. The handover to Rederi AB Eckerö is anticipated to take place later this month, marking a significant step forward for the company as it enhances its operational capabilities.
