In a significant strategic move, BOURBON has announced the successful sale of its two large AHTS (Anchor Handling Tug Supply) vessels, the Bourbon Surf and Bourbon Borgstein, both crafted in Norway and approximately 10 years old. The deal, valued at a total of $130 million, is set to yield a capital gain of around $63 million, according to the company’s official press release. Despite the sale, BOURBON will retain operational control of these vessels for a minimum of two years, extendable up to five years, with an annual bareboat charter fee representing 13% of the transaction value.
