Authorities discovered ten deficiencies during a comprehensive examination, with two particular issues categorized as serious enough to warrant the vessel’s detention. The critical concerns involved inadequate fire safety measures, specifically a non-compliant fire detection and alarm system, and a significant lack of crew familiarity with emergency protocols. Fortunately, the vessel was released on December 13, after a two-day detention, and subsequently relocated to Tuzla on December 14. The 'Fortius' is now en route to Constanta, with an expected arrival on December 16. Notably, this incident was not the vessel's first; it had previously faced detention on January 17.

On January 17, 2025, the vessel 'Fortius' faced detention in Kocaeli, Turkey, due to 17 identified deficiencies. Among these, four were classified as severe enough to warrant the vessel's detention. The critical issues included the absence of records for seafarers' daily hours of work and rest, non-compliance with regulations regarding maximum working hours and minimum rest periods, and structural deficiencies related to both the hull construction and the integrity of beams, frames, and floors. After addressing these concerns, the 'Fortius' was permitted to leave the port on January 20 and set sail for Izmail, with an estimated time of arrival scheduled for January 22.
