On July 8, 2018, at approximately noon, the vessel 'Spania', headed from Yeisk to Turkey, experienced a significant main engine failure while navigating the Kerchenskiy Strait. The incident prompted the crew to drop anchor on the port side of the canal, specifically between buoys No. 33 and 34. Quick to respond, the crew initiated urgent repairs to restore engine function.
