Working Conditions Aboard the Fournier-Girls

In a recent incident on October 30, 2015, the U.S. Coast Guard sprang into action following the grounding of the tugboat 'Miss Gill' and the tank barge 'Delaware' near Wilmington. The tug was actively pushing the barge, which contained about 1.3 million gallons of asphalt, when they encountered difficulties and ran aground in the morning hours. Coast Guard personnel from Sector Delaware Bay in Philadelphia quickly arrived at the location to assess the situation. In collaboration with Kirby Offshore Marine, the barge's owner, a salvage operation plan was devised and executed effectively.
