Fpso-Cidade-Deparaty Vessel Reviews and Specifications

As of June 17, repairs on the floating production, storage and offloading vessel, Cidade de Paraty, are advancing positively after its tow into False Bay. This vessel encountered generator issues approximately 45 miles offshore on June 7, but adverse weather conditions delayed its towing until June 10. The South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA) reports that the vessel's owners are investing significant resources and effort into the repair process.

The Floating Production Storage and Offloading unit (FPSO) 'Cidade de Paraty' has been successfully towed into False Bay for essential maintenance after encountering generator issues approximately 45 miles offshore on June 7, 2012. A Smit salvors tug was sent to assist the vessel; however, adverse weather conditions extended the towing process, with the FPSO finally reaching False Bay on June 10. Currently, the 'Cidade de Paraty' is anchored in the bay, having received authorization from the South African Maritime Safety Authority to remain there while undergoing necessary repairs. The FPSO is facing operational challenges due to malfunctioning generators, with only a single emergency generator operational at this time. The duration of the repair work remains uncertain.
