These fortunate castaways were survivors from the ill-fated vessel "Rocker," which had sunk on August 8 near the Amirante Islands. After enduring more than three weeks of uncertainty, the drifting men were located over 380 nautical miles northwest of the islands. The crew of the "Franche Terre" quickly notified the CROSS Reunion, ensuring that help was on the way. Upon rescue, the crew provided immediate care, finding the men's conditions to be satisfactory despite their ordeal.
