Working Conditions Aboard the Frio-Nereus

The bulk carrier 'Frio Petropavlovsk' has successfully completed repair works following a grounding incident. The vessel departed from Ijmuiden port on December 3 at 11:30 PM, setting its course towards Las Palmas with an estimated time of arrival on December 9.

On the evening of November 19, 2016, at approximately 8 p.m., the cargo vessel "Frio Petropavlovsk" encountered a significant setback while navigating towards the Velsen Terminal. After departing from Murmansk on November 12, the ship experienced an engine failure as it approached the North-Velsen locks, ultimately leading to it becoming stranded on the South Pier at IJmuiden. Fortunately, two tugs were able to assist in freeing the vessel just half an hour later. Following the incident, the "Frio Petropavlovsk" was secured on the south side at the Klosterboer fishing harbor for a thorough damage assessment.
