What Crew Members Say About Frio-Pacific

In the early hours of January 7, 2017, a significant maritime incident occurred in the Philippines Sea when the cargo ship 'Sevilla Carrier' collided with the stern of the tuna fishing vessel 'Hsiang Yung No. 6' (MMSI-No.: 416003665). The collision happened at 3:45 a.m. at coordinates 19°28'N 129°36'E, approximately 515 miles East-South-East of Eluanbi, which is the southernmost point of Taiwan. The impact resulted in a breach of the fishing vessel's hull, leading to water ingress; however, all ten crew members aboard, comprising two Taiwanese and eight Indonesian nationals, were reported safe with no immediate danger. Following the incident, the 'Sevilla Carrier' stayed in proximity to assist. Although the 'Hsiang Yung No. 6' was damaged, it was still capable of sailing. The crew was advised to remain on board until another Taiwanese fishing vessel, expected to arrive later that evening, could provide further assistance.
