Rescue Operation: Disabled Topaz Endurance Towed to Safety in Las Palmas
On the morning of August 24, 2021, maritime rescue efforts were successfully executed as the SAR vessel 'Miguel de Cervantes' intervened to assist the 'Topaz Endurance.' This vessel encountered a propulsion failure due to electrical issues while located 3.5 nautical miles southeast of Punta Tenefé. With a total of 15 crew members onboard, 'Topaz Endurance' was en route from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to Luanda, expected to arrive by September 9. The towback to Las Palmas was executed efficiently, and the vessel reached the Reina Sofia Southeast Jetty at 6:55 a.m. on August 25.
