On July 20, 2023, at precisely 10:08 a.m., the all-weather lifeboat 'William F Yates' was deployed from Llandudno to execute a critical medevac of a crew member aboard the 'Fugro Synergy.' The vessel was engaged in drilling and sampling operations approximately 25 nautical miles north of Llandudno when the crew member's condition necessitated immediate medical attention. The dedicated volunteer crew arrived on site within the hour, facilitating a swift and secure transfer of the casualty from the drilling ship to the lifeboat. Upon reaching the Llandudno station, the individual was quickly transferred to an awaiting ambulance for further care at Ysbyty Gwynedd Bangor. By 12:25 p.m., the lifeboat was returned to shore and was thoroughly cleaned and serviced, readying it for future launches.
