Successful Medical Evacuation Operation Near Cape Ortegal
On December 1, 2020, at 1 p.m., a medical emergency prompted the activation of the SAR helicopter Helimer 401 by the CCS Finisterre. This critical mission was to evacuate a crew member from the vessel 'Gueotec', which was located 67 miles northwest of Cabo Ortegal. The dedicated team successfully hoisted the patient from the ship and transported him to Alvedro Airport. Upon arrival, an ambulance was ready to swiftly convey him to CHUAC for further medical attention.
