Position: Unknown
Advantages:
I live in Liverpool and had an interesting visit on Wednesday.
Disadvantages:
I went back this afternoon (Sunday) around 3 o'clock to ask what time the ship leaves, as I would like to see it go. I was faced with the most rude, obnoxious people I have ever met dealing with the general public. The man standing at the head of the queue was especially offensive: he actually had the audacity to tell me to move away, when I was standing on a public footpath. The captain would do well to train his crew in basic good manners and how to be polite. If this incident is covered by surveillance, I was the man on the bicycle, with the helmet and hi-vis jacket. Perhaps the individuals, who were so nasty to me, do not like this particular duty, so are deliberately spoiling the experience for tourists.

No personal experience yet, just gathering info.

Galeon Andalucía Faces Departure Challenges from Whitehaven Harbour
The Galeon Andalucía, a stunning replica of a 17th-century Spanish galleon, encountered difficulties as it attempted to set sail from Whitehaven Harbour in the early morning hours of July 16, 2025. Docked at Whitehaven since July 8, the ship had become a popular attraction, allowing thousands of visitors to step aboard and experience its historical charm. Originally intending to depart earlier, the vessel had extended its visit by an additional two days. On the day of departure, wind gusts posed challenges, leading to minor damage to a pontoon during the maneuver. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries among those on board, and the vessel successfully returned to the Sugar Tongue area. The crew planned to make another attempt to leave at 4 p.m. that day, contingent upon favorable weather conditions. The next destination for the Galeon Andalucía is the highly anticipated Bristol Harbour Festival, where its arrival is scheduled for July 17. While an investigation into the extent of the damage is ongoing, the community continues to rally around this remarkable maritime attraction.
