On February 21, 2014, Vroon celebrated the delivery of MV Gelbray Express, marking the third addition to their fleet of six innovative livestock carriers currently under construction at Cosco Guangdong Shipyard. With three more vessels expected to join the fleet in May 2014 and the latter half of 2015, Vroon is set to enhance its operations significantly, as stated in the company's official announcement. These cutting-edge livestock carriers are engineered to be ‘next-generation’ vessels, featuring an impressive cargo capacity of around 4,500 square meters and an extensive cruising range of approximately 18,000 nautical miles. The vessels have been equipped with animal welfare facilities that surpass the stringent standards set by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA). Notably, they also boast a state-of-the-art bow design that promises considerable fuel savings while ensuring swift travel speeds and optimal comfort for both the cargo and crew. The christening ceremony for Gelbray Express was held at the shipyard, where Ms. Sophie Wang, the Managing Director of Landmark Global Exports Pty Ltd., had the honor of naming the vessel. Following its launch, Gelbray Express is slated to embark on a medium-term charter with Landmark Global Exports, marking an exciting chapter in the advancement of livestock transportation.
