Disabled Trawler 'Resolute' Successfully Towed to Lerwick
In a remarkable maritime operation, the fishing trawler 'Resolute' was towed safely to Lerwick in the Shetland Islands, Scotland, in the early hours of August 29, 2015. The incident occurred around 5 a.m. when the vessel experienced engine failure shortly after departing from Hovland on August 27, west of Fair Isle. 'Forever Grateful', another trawler, came to the rescue, towing 'Resolute' to the south entrance of the harbour. Upon arrival, the trawler was turned over to the two harbour tugs, which guided it into Shetland Catch at 7:40 a.m., where it successfully discharged its cargo of herring.
