A distressing incident unfolded late Tuesday night aboard the MV Global Leader, a Bahama-flagged cargo ship, as it sailed through the Atlantic Ocean. The accident resulted in the tragic death of a 46-year-old Mexican crew member, while a 38-year-old Filipino sailor sustained serious injuries, according to maritime authorities. Witnesses reported that a rescue boat may have collapsed on the two sailors during the mishap. Following the incident, the MV Global Leader docked near a buoy approximately five miles offshore from Port Georgetown.
