On May 2, the cargo ferry 'Glyvursnes' made its much-anticipated return to service, departing from Hirtshals to Thorshavn following significant repair work. The catastrophic fire, which erupted in the engine room, sadly resulted in the death of a 34-year-old crew member. On January 3rd, the Danish Maritime Authority took action by boarding the 'Glyuvursnes' after a tragic incident led to the death of a crew member on the evening of January 2nd. The situation unfolded in Hirtshals, where the vessel has since been detained due to a fire that occurred in the engine room. A 34-year-old man lost his life, while a fellow crew member, aged 47, sustained severe injuries. The injured individual, also from the Faroe Islands, has been placed in an induced coma and hospitalized at Rigshospitalet to address his critical burns.
