The vessel had been involved in a collision with the ro-ro ship 'Lake Superior', situated approximately 50 miles north of Roscoff. At the time of the incident, the 'Lake Superior' was en route to Konakry after departing from Antwerp. She carried a crew of 23 and had a significant cargo of over 2,400 vehicles on board. Following the collision, the trawler was making its way to the port of Saint-Malo, under the protection of the trawler 'Taranis' and the lifeboat 'Zant Ivy - SNS 090' from the Loguivy-de-la-mer SNSM station.
