The Great-Republic: Crew Feedback and Vessel Data

On the evening of July 2, 2017, at approximately 6 p.m., a noteworthy incident occurred involving the freighter 'Great Republic' as it navigated the Cuyahoga River. During a maneuver to turn, the vessel inadvertently collided with the dock of Shooters on the Water, as well as a recreational boat that was improperly moored in a designated no-mooring zone. This area, crucial for ensuring safe passage for vessels in the river’s tight and twisting channels, prohibits anchoring to allow ample room for larger ships to maneuver. Thankfully, the collision did not result in any damage to the recreational boat or the freighter itself, and there were no reported injuries. However, Shooter's dock did sustain some damage from the impact.
